These records that relate to the Civli War and its aftermath included with these papers are registration books naming the men from South Danvers and Peabody who served in the Civil War, Spanish-American War and World War I, as well as those who served on the Peabody Board of Exemption from 1917 to 1919. Loose papers found in the Civil War Registry have been removed to Box 2. Also filed here is a booklet of an address given in Peabody in 1883 regarding the service of the 45th Massachusetts Volunteers and the 8th Massachusetts Regiment and the broadside published for the Dedication of the Soldiers and Sailors' Monument on November 10th, 1881. |
