Clara was born on September 16, 1877 in Peabody. Her father, William, was from Londonderry, New Hampshire. He would later move to Peabody and work in the leather industry. William married Mary E. Torr on November 29, 1876 in Peabody. Claire was their first child. They would also have a daughter, Ethel M Trask, who was born in 1879. In 1886 the Essex Agricultural Society awarded Clara ".50. Gratuity, to Clara M. Trask, Peabody, for plain sewing" for her work with children under twelve years of age. Clara graduated from Peabody High School in 1895 and was awarded the George Peabody Merit Medal. She would later move to Newark, New Jersey and lived at 57 Weequahic Avenue. According to the 1930 census she was listed as a high school teacher and was living her sister and brother-in-law, Chartles H. Sterns. She is listed as being 52 at the time and single Clara died sometime after 1935 the exact date and place is currently unknown. Her SSN was 150361387.
