Object Name Postcard
Description Postcard of the Peabody Institute Library from the 1940s. The front of the postcard is of the Peabody Institute with a caption on the top that reads "Peabody Institute, Peabody, Mass.). The tower is also shown in the image. On the back the postcard is dated March 21, 1943. Postage on the postcard is a 1 cent stamp with the message "Freedom of speech and religion, from want and fear." The message reads "Hope these postcards are acceptable -- / Dad" The postcard is address to:

Greenville Army Base would be deactivated in 1963 and converted into a civilian airport. It is currently an active airfield known as Donaldson Center Airport.
