Mary Hudnall (Leahy) was born December 19, 1919 in Malden, Massachusetts and Clyde Hudnall was born on February 24, 1918. Buckner, Missouri. The both served in World War II; Clyde served in the Navy and Mary in the Navy Nurse Corps. When the left the service
Mary had achieved the rank of Full lieutenant while Clyde was Commander.
They moved to Peabody in 1957 after living in Florida for a time. They were volunteers at the Peabody Historical Society for many years. Mary died on August 10, 2015 at the age of 96. Clyde who was the volunteer military curator at the Peabody Historical Society retired from his position.
On Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Osborne-Salata House at 33 Washington Street the Clyde and Mary Hudnall Military Room was dedicated in their memory, both for their service to the country and to the Society. Postcards were mailed out and made available at businesses and institutions in Peabody to promote the event.
