Map shows plot of land purchased by town from Philip Bushby.
Philip Bushby died at his home at 71 Central Street at the age of 83. He was a farmer and had owned considerable property.
In 1914, the town of Peabody purchased this piece of land from Bushby for $5950. It seems this property was designated for an addition, which became the Leo Buckley Athletic Field. It took several years before this was accomplished.
Frank Emerson was the engineer who did the survey. The original map may have been lost because this is copy of the original that was traced by George A. Barnaby in May of 1929.
